A special media parley was held today, 8th December 2025, at the Seventh Hotel in Kaduna to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event was organized by PLANE as part of ongoing efforts to amplify conversations around disability inclusion in Nigeria.
Speaking during the session, the National President of the National Association of Persons with Disability, Comrade Rilwan Mohammed Abdullahi, briefed journalists on the significance of this year’s celebration. He highlighted the progress made so far, the challenges that still persist, and the collective responsibility required to build a more inclusive society.

Comrade Abdullahi emphasized the importance of continued advocacy, stronger policy implementation, and meaningful collaboration between government, development partners, and disability communities.
The media parley brought together stakeholders, advocates, and members of the press, reinforcing the call for improved awareness, accessibility, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities across the country.
